High‑Polymer Modified Asphalt Waterproof Coating

Scope of Application

Building construction: Waterproofing works for roofs, basements, toilets, kitchens, balconies; renovation and repair of old roof waterproofing.

Underground engineering: Waterproofing for external basement walls, base slabs, post‑pouring belts, pile heads, pipe‑penetrating joints and other details.

Municipal engineering: Non‑exposed waterproofing for tunnels, culverts, drainage ditches and reservoirs.

Industrial buildings: Waterproofing for factory roofs and equipment foundations.

Construction Precautions

1. Base Surface

The base surface shall be solid and flat, free of sanding, dust and oil stains. Repair cracks and holes with polymer mortar. Form R50 mm circular arcs at internal and external corners. Compact the areas around pipe roots and water outlets.

No standing water on the substrate, moisture content ≤9%. Apply primer to reinforce loose and sanding base surfaces.

2. Construction Requirements

Stir thoroughly with an electric mixer after opening the drum. Do not dilute with water or solvent.

Apply multiple thin coats in cross directions. Apply the next coat only when the previous one is surface‑dry and non‑tacky. Interval: 2‑6 h at normal temperature; 8‑24 h under low‑temperature and humid conditions.

Additional layers with width ≥200 mm shall be applied at internal and external corners, pipe roots, floor drains, expansion joints and water outlets by the two‑coat‑one‑fabric method.

Total dry‑film thickness ≥1.5 mm (subject to design requirements). Theoretical consumption: 2.5‑3.0 kg/㎡.

After construction, cure naturally for 24‑48 h at normal temperature; extend curing time under low‑temperature and high‑humidity conditions. No treading, rain exposure or water immersion before full curing.

After waterproof layer acceptance, construct protective layer of cement mortar or fine‑aggregate concrete. Perform water‑closing test only after full curing.

3. Environmental Conditions

Suitable construction temperature: 5℃～35℃. Do not construct below 5℃ to avoid coating demulsification and failure.

Do not construct in rainy weather, with standing water on substrate, heavy fog, dew or wind force ≥Grade 5. Ambient humidity shall not exceed 85%.

4. Material Handling

Sediment at drum bottom is normal; stir well before use. Use up opened material on the same day whenever possible. Seal leftover material tightly. Discard caked or demulsified material.

The reinforcement fabric shall be fully saturated without white core, hollowing or edge curling. Cut and repair hollow areas before continuing coating work.

5. Storage and Safety

Storage temperature: 5‑40℃. Store in cool and ventilated place, keep away from heat source, avoid sunlight and frost.

Ensure good ventilation during construction. Avoid prolonged skin contact. In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice immediately.

No chiseling or impact by sharp objects before full curing of coating film to prevent damage to waterproof layer.
