Product Description

SBS Torch Applied Modified Bitumen Waterproofing Membrane is composed of SBS (styrene - butadiene - styrene) thermoplastic elastomer modified asphalt as dip coating material, with high quality polyester tire or glass fiber compound tire cloth as the base, covered with polyethylene (PE Type), fine sand (S Type), mineral aggregate (M Type) as the facing material, applied with torch on waterproofing application.

Construction Method

Base treatment: Clean the base surface, repair cracks and pits, and form arcs at internal and external corners. The base shall be flat, clean and as dry as possible.

Apply base primer (cold base oil): Apply evenly and allow to dry until non-tacky to touch.

Install reinforcement layers: Lay additional reinforcement layers at internal and external corners, pipe roots and drain outlets.

Snap lines for installation: Lay from low to high following water flow direction. Heat the underside of the membrane with a torch, lay immediately once asphalt melts, and roll with pressure roller to expel air.

Lap joint sealing: Long-side lap ≥100 mm, short-side lap ≥150 mm. Fully heat-fuse lap joints with uniform asphalt extrusion, press firmly for sealing.

Terminal treatment: Fix membrane terminals on parapet walls and vertical surfaces with pressure strips and seal tightly with sealant.

Acceptance: No hollowing or edge lifting. Conduct water-holding / water-spraying test on roof, and install protective layer upon passing inspection.

Scope of Application

1. Building roof projects Flat roofs, sloped roofs, steel‑structure roofs; new roof construction and old‑roof renovation. Sand‑surfaced version can be directly exposed. Widely used for factories, residential and commercial building roofs.
2. Underground construction projects Basement slabs, raft foundations, bearing platforms, basement exterior walls and underground parking garages. Waterproofing for pile foundations, post‑pouring belts, sump pits. Suitable for external hot‑melt installation and pre‑applied anti‑adhesion construction.
3. Municipal & rail‑transit works Subways, utility tunnels, tunnels, underground passages and civil‑defense projects for slab and side‑wall waterproofing.
4. Industrial structures Water‑treatment tanks, reservoirs and fire‑water pools (non‑potable‑water tanks).
5. Other building sections Green roof planting systems (root‑resistant grade required), balconies, terraces. Reinforcing layers for expansion joints, deformation joints, internal and external corners.
