Special Joint Sealant For Pavement Crack Repair
Product Introduction
This type of joint sealant takes modified petroleum asphalt as its base material, and its performance is optimized by adding modifiers such as SBS and waste rubber powder. It is mostly hot-melt type and black in block shape, with a conventional specification of 12.5kg per piece. It is currently the most used product in highway maintenance scenarios, suitable for daily crack maintenance operations on ordinary municipal roads and arterial roads in most regions at home and abroad.
Product Features
With an elongation rate of over 200%, can maintain elasticity in a temperature range from -30°C to 60. It does not flow at high temperatures, does not crack at low temperatures, a 30% higher bonding strength compared to ordinary asphalt, can withstand repeated rolling of regular vehicles, has excellent aging resistance, a service life of 3 to 5 years, and greatly reduces the frequency of repeated maintenance.
Product Category
| Model & Specification | Scope of Application |
| 0 ℃ High‑temperature Grade | Suitable for inland regions with scorching hot summers and rarely sub‑zero temperatures in winter. The historical extreme minimum temperature in winter is no lower than 0 ℃, and the pavement temperature rises sharply under direct sunlight in summer. It features outstanding high‑temperature stability, resisting flowing and tire‑sticking under high summer pavement temperature. It is suitable for crack sealing and repair of roads, parks and factory roads. |
| ‑10 ℃ Normal Grade | Suitable for areas where the winter extreme minimum temperature is generally no lower than ‑10 ℃ with moderate seasonal temperature difference. It is a general‑purpose grade with high cost‑performance, balancing high‑temperature performance and ordinary low‑temperature crack‑resistance. |
| ‑20 ℃ Low‑temperature Grade | Suitable for cold winter areas where the winter extreme minimum temperature can reach ‑20 ℃. This grade maintains elasticity at low temperature and is not prone to brittle cracking or peeling‑off. |
| ‑30 ℃ Cold‑climate Grade | Suitable for regions with long and severe winters, where the extreme minimum temperature can reach ‑30 ℃ and freeze‑thaw cycles occur frequently. This grade delivers excellent low‑temperature resilience and adapts to large temperature fluctuations, ideal for heavy‑duty highway maintenance projects. |
| ‑40 ℃ Frigid‑climate Grade | Suitable for alpine and extremely cold regions. The winter extreme minimum temperature can be as low as ‑40 ℃ with large day‑night temperature difference and frozen‑soil conditions. It retains good elasticity and adhesive force under ultra‑low temperature without brittle cracking or joint debonding of sealant. It is widely used for maintenance of expressways and trunk roads in frigid zones. |
Function Introduction
1. Precisely fill various transverse and longitudinal irregular cracks the road surface with widths ranging from 1 to 30 mm, completely isolating rainwater, snow-melting agents and sand impurities from invading the interior of the, preventing the cracks from further expanding under the action of temperature stress and vehicle load, delaying the aging speed of the road surface from the source, and extending overall service life of the road.
Construction Steps
1. Thoroughly remove the floating soil, loose particles debris inside the cracks with high-pressure air, and ensure the crack walls are dry free of accumulated water. 2. Put the joint sealant into a dedicated device, and stir uniformly within the range of 180-200℃ until it completely melts into a flowing state.3. Hold the joint pouring gun and pour uniformly from the bottom of the crack upward, ensuring the sealant is filled without bubbles, and the surface is slightly higher than the reserved settlement space of road surface. 4. After natural cooling for 2 hours, traffic can be opened If conditions permit, properly extending the cooling time can further enhance the bonding effect.
